Go Green

At Blackprint we strive to do everything we can to help reduce our impact on the environment.

We urge all our clients to consider using biodegradable inks and recycled paper for their print jobs.

As the environments resources are slowly but surely diminishing, we feel as a high impact business we should be making every effort to reduce our usage where we can.

The areas we are targeting cover Inks, Paper and recycling.

Our recycled paper source is made up of:

  • 10% packaging waste
  • 10% best white waste
  • 60% de-linked waste fibre
  • 20% virgin TCF (Totally Chlorine Free) fibre sourced from sustainable forests.

The biodegradable ink available is high-gloss sheet-fed offset process ink based on renewable raw materials that contain no mineral oil.

The new generation of HIT process inks (HIT = Highly improved Technology) are manufactured in optimised production processes. The special constituents of the process inks are matched precisely to the individual stages in the manufacturing process. The wetting medium and the finely controlled dispersion conditions have been chosen so as to ensure that the ink pigments are coated completely and in a stable manner.

Thanks to this fresh optimisation of the ‘Highly Improved Technology’ process the printing characteristics of the HIT process inks have been greatly improved. The improvements in quality are to be found in areas such as the development of colour intensity, gloss, rub-resistance, flow behavior, damping solution tolerance, stability at high printing speeds, and further processing.

The ink will provide an exceptional smooth gloss, combined with the environmental benefits of being mineral oil free. It possess the ability to remain at consistent viscosity throughout different temperature ranges on press and at very fast press speeds, and as a result, will out perform and out match most other makes of gloss process inks on the market today. It is rapid drying allow for quick turn around will minimise waste.

Recycling

At Blackprint we recycle all our guillotine trimmings and waste printed matter with a local company called PHS Datashred. PHS Datashred provide a local and UK nationwide service for data destruction, confidential waste disposal, paper shredding, high security shredding, waste recycling, general and special waste disposal.
